An early adaptation of the Worzel Gummidge series of novels (1936-1963) by Barbara Euphan Todd. The eponymous main character Worzel is a living scarecrow who resides on Scatterbrook Farm. He befriends the vacationing children John and Susan, but typically lands them in trouble, Whenever he causes mischief, he feigns being a lifeless scarecrow and then lets someone else face the consequences for his actions.
