A man who was walking with his dog on the banks of the Seine River has been attacked by somebody who broke his neck and stabbed him ; when the police arrive the corpse had the number 5 stamped with fresh ink on his front.The police captain Marc Simon is in charge of the murder investigation.This morning Julie Martial, an editor has received an anonymous envelope (with on the back the number 5 and inside a letter about the last murder committed in Paris.So Julie decides to call the police, asks for the phone number of Marc Simon Simon, then she has to attend to Jérôme Gallois, a writer who wants to know what happens with his last novel he wrote.Julie fires him.Then Julie receives an anonymous fax menacing her if she speaks with the police.The police captain Marc Simon tries to call Julie, but he doesn't receive any answer,so he goes to the publishing house, enters in a room where Julie is speaking with colleagues: they go out, Julie explains that her call was a mistake, she was preoccupied because a writer wrote something like the last murder, but she destroyed the manuscript.Marc Simon is sure that Julie Martial is lying.
