The goings-on at a New York State Conservation camp are presented. Expert fly tyer Roy Steamrod gives a demonstration before the fishers use the ties to catch some trout. Biologist John Gould tells the camp attendees that for a healthy fish habitat, the trout must be provided more than artificial flies as a food source, but real live insect life as well. The balance in the entire ecosystem is important. Humans are now part of that ecosystem management. Johnny, one of the young camp attendees, uses what he learns at camp to help improve the hunting and fishing in his local area through his local rod and gun club.
