A soldier who has served a long time only receives a shoddy farewell salary. He looks for helpers who should force the king to pay him fair. He soon finds five fellows who have wonderful qualities and who want to stand by him. One has enormous powers, the second is an art marksman, the third can conjure up large frosts, one knows how to spark a storm by sneezing, and the fifth runs faster than the wind. The king's daughter, a heartless, snooty creature, is about to get married. But she just wants a man who can run faster than her. The soldier and his companions compete. Thanks to their common strength and artistry, they defeat the king and his daughter and leave with the treasures of the empire.
