Eon McKai's Neu wave hookers is tangentially based on the movie New wave hookers. The plot is thin, a small group of girls find a video of the original New Wave Hookers and a VCR and begin watching it. From there the forth wall becomes either erased or at least semi-permeable. The girls enter and exit sex scenes while watching the movie. The interesting things here in the movie is how the sex scenes are for the most part displayed as fantasies of the women, but the sex which is rough can be interpreted as degrading. The fluid way that the actors move between scenes is playfull. There is an interesting music video in the middle of the movie in which the two actors and one actress seem to be performing as much for themselves and each other as they are for the people watching. There is also a short part in which a piece of Porn history is discussed when the original New Wave Hookers is discussed in relation to its problem with employing an underage Traci Lord. The scenery and costumes are all done in such a way as to make the observer aware that they are watching something constructed. The flowers for example in one of the very first scenes are paper cut outs that one might find on the set of a grade school play.
