Cleats of Imminent Doom
Jenny, a small girl with glasses, raised by her grandparents, narrates the championship soccer game between her team, the Cleats of Imminent Doom, and the reigning champions, the Black Widow Princesses. We meet Jenny's team and Coach Bob, who's coached all five of his daughters' teams and wants to win one trophy. We meet the Black Widows, coached by an Italian soccer legend. The Widows take an early lead, mostly because the Cleats' goalie, Summer, is hapless and in love. Then, things start looking up, and it may come down to Abby, the Cleats' best player whose father is her loudest fan. Kids, parents, and sports: imminent doom indeed.
