Jeanne and Rémi, a couple of farmers, have three sons. When one one of them is killed during a cycling race, Jeanne sinks in deep sorrow while her husband, blunt and unable to express his feelings, goes on living and working as if nothing had happened. A gap widens between them and Jeanne, at the utmost of misery, finds sympathy (and - later - shelter) with Mouna, a neighboring farmer of Moroccan origin...
