Jay Cook is a 31-year-old British bloke on vacation in Los Angeles. He's visiting his old schoolfriend Richard, who has been settled there for several years. The trip is exciting for Jay, a film buff who recently fulfilled his lifelong dream of applying for several London drama schools - only to be rejected by all of them. Things get ugly when Jay sees a familiar face on a movie poster: that of his old school nemesis Hugh Lawrence, who is on the verge of becoming a huge star.
