Bassima is reluctant to marry. The trouble is that Faizy, her rich father, has decided that his younger daughters will not be allowed to marry until Bassima is united in holy matrimony herself. The latter urge their father to encourage Bassima to take the plunge. Faisy then starts writing Bassima anonymous love letters and little by little the girl grows fonder and fonder of the stranger who sends her such passionate missives. Following a misunderstanding, Bassima believes the sender is none other than Ahmed Atef, a handsome but poor singer.
