In 1944, a young chatelaine leaves her bedroom to an American soldier for a night, thus leaving all the exterior signs of her intimacy within reach of his hands. When the G.I. wakes up in the morning, he discovers little by little who her host actually is and he is deeply troubled. At the time he leaves the manor, the young woman pretends not to notice him.
