Donal Davoren (Jens Østerholm) is a poet who lives only for the writing. The folks in his tenement building, however, believes he's an IRA gunman laying low, and Donal is content to let them think so. Things change for real when Minnie Powell (Lone Hertz). Donal and his flatmate Seamus (Preben Kaas) end up holding the bag after the killing of a friend of Seamus who's really in the IRA. When the authorities search house to house for IRA members, Millie tries to protect Donal.
