The protagonist is a manager of a small town movie theatre. He is tortured by the childhood trauma of having abandoned his mentally ill brother in the flames of a fire in the chaos of it all and feels isolated with his severe survivor's guilt. Once, while welcoming a Norwegian film crew, a similar accident brings back all of this for him to deal with - a homeless person who lives in the heating room at the cinema suffocates to death there and in the process of investigating, the manager comes to shape his own identity around the events to follow. Guilt appears stronger than ever. Yet, after his brother dies, he goes through a lot of grief to realize finally that all life exists for a reason, comes to face his guilty conscience and to reunite with his old and only friend Laky the artist.
