Juan soldado
After twenty-four years in the service of the King, Juan Soldado is discharged as an old man, receiving a loaf of bread and six coins as the only reward. One day, walking through a meadow, Saint Peter and Jesus Christ appear to him, who three times request his protection. Charitably, Juan shares bread with them. In return for his generosity, they grant him a wish: whatever he wants will immediately be locked up in his bag. Using this gift, Juan Soldado manages to defeat Lucifer and his Devil. Finally, he will even lock up Saint Peter himself, who tries to close the narrow gates of heaven to the souls in purgatory.
