Tue-la-mort
Tue-la-Mort is the nickname of Tulamore, a Provençal innkeeper who has become wealthy through smuggling. However, his material wealth is not enough to win the love of the beautiful but cruel Diane de Mentana, who prefers an even richer stranger, Antonio Ovilla. The ungrateful woman soon regrets her decision, as Ovilla, now her husband, treats her with coldness and authoritarianism. Meanwhile, disturbing events occur at Tulamore's inn: several travelers disappear and thefts are committed. The innkeeper soon comes under suspicion by the authorities.
