Buck McDavid, owner of the Bell Cross Ranch which is mortgaged to the hilt, decides to try to get a renewal on the mortgage and on his way to see Martin Selby, who holds his note, he meets Alf Lonnergan, a rival for Mona Selby. Lonnergan knows of Buck's dilemma and decides to purchase the note from Martin Selby and tells Buck so. Comedy is mixed with drama and in the end Buck discomforts his rival and all ends happily.
