On his first day on the job, a TV journalist has his camera stolen by a passer-by he was interviewing on the street. The thief is a disillusioned young man who is nonetheless worried about the way his generation is portrayed on TV. So he takes action, founding FRIP (Front pour la réappropriation des images du peuple) and attempting a remake of the film "The Decline of the American Empire". He finds himself confronted with the economic and political criteria that govern our wonderful world of television, and soon realizes that reclaiming the medium is no easy task.
