The gray mice call the members of the white mouse family with whom they have been forced by chance to live under the same roof, the mealy mice. The white mice, on the other hand, refer to the grays exclusively as the poppy seeds. Only Soma and Fruzsi, the two youngsters, don't care what color the other's fur is. But because all the mice are afraid of cats and like cheese equally, they eventually come to an understanding.
