The Debbie Reynolds Show
Debbie Thompson was an ordinary housewife who wanted desperately to become a newspaper reporter. Her husband, Jim, was a well-known sportswriter for "The Los Angeles Sun", and Debbie's wacky schemes to build up her own career more often than not constantly put him on the spot. This TV series' resemblance to the earlier TV series I Love Lucy (1951) is not coincidental, since it was produced by "Lucy" writer Jess Oppenheimer. Debbie's sister, Charlotte Landers, was often her sidekick in her crazy plans, much to the chagrin of her brother-in-law, Bob.
