During archaeological excavations in the crypt of Santo Tomé, Toledo (Spain), a sarcophagus is discovered that contains the uncorrupted body of Captain Contreras, a man in a state of lethargy since 1650, due to a potion that someone forced him to ingest to avoid ills greater. The cheeky journalist Cornejo intends to take advantage of this finding, with the help of Paca Revilla, a careless woman, and an unscrupulous doctor. The controversy over the authenticity of the body of Contreras reaches the ears of some American universities, which buy the body of the Captain.
