Writer Jerry Logan, who specializes in potboiler stories about sailors and seafaring, has actually never been on board a ship in his life. He decides one day to give it a try. He meets two sailors who tell him a completely made-up story about buried treasure, in order to get him to charter the boat of a financially struggling young girl they know.
