Eric Stackpole is a Mechanical Engineer with over ten years of experience in marine technology R&D. Starting his career at NASA Ames Research Center, he later founded OpenROV, where he developed affordable Remotely Operated Vehicles to advance citizen science. Stackpole's work spans specialized ROVs for polar exploration and low-cost technology to make ocean research accessible. He starred as the Ocean Technology Innovator in OceanXplorers, a James Cameron and BBC Studios docuseries on National Geographic and Disney Plus. Stackpole holds a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Santa Clara University.
