Salma Amer is an American director born in Alexandria, Egypt. At 18, she moved to the United States, where she earned a degree in accounting before pursuing her true passion-filmmaking. She studied in New York and later obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Filmmaking from the New York Film Academy in Los Angeles. Now based between Los Angeles and New York, Salma works as a director in commercials, music videos, and short films. To gain hands-on experience and immerse herself in the world of directing, she started her career as a script supervisor.

A passionate storyteller, Salma has crafted compelling narratives that have been showcased at numerous film festivals, earning her multiple awards for her short films. She strongly believes in the power of art to inspire and connect audiences, striving to create socially relevant stories that leave a lasting impact. Dedicated to empowering women in the industry, Salma frequently collaborates with female-led productions, championing stories that celebrate and uplift women.
