Via was raised on the shimmering asphalt of suburban New York by a multi-generational Puerto Rican and Jewish family where God was in charge (aka, her abuela).

An alumna of screenwriting labs and fellowships through Sundance, the Stowe Story Labs, Women In Animation, and Cine Qua Non (sponsored by AMPAS), Via's first film, These Colors Don't Run, was shot on film with the support of Kodak, and was available on HBO Max and Hulu. Her latest film, Post Comedy, received a camera grant for films with social relevance through WIFVDC and DC-Camera. She is the producer of La Juana (dir: Anayamel), Bridge (dir: Cristina Wolf), and Development (dir: Chloe Caudillo), a selected project for Netflix x LALIFF's Inclusion Fellowship.

Via is the co-writer of the absurdist rom-com, Holiday Hangover (optioned by Happy Accidents), and loves to create stories about cursey Latinas who say they don't give a shit... yet totally do.
