Karmyn Jones is named after the acclaimed musical production, "Carmen Jones", as Karmyn's mother, Barbara, was impressed with the performance of Dorothy Dandridge and the all African American cast. Born in 1959, in Detroit, Michigan, Karmyn is the oldest of 4 children born to David--a minister and educator--and their mother, Barbara (née, Brooks) whose career included administrative positions in the U.S. Army (civilian), hospitals, and with NASA on the Redstone Arsenal, Bendix Automotive, and Whirlpool Corporations.

Karmyn grew up with great storytellers. At the age of 2 years old, her father, David, took Karmyn to see her first film in theaters, Disney's "Pinocchio". From a young age, Karmyn loved listening to her elders relate her family's history, tell of their journeys, and hear of the ways they overcame racism, prejudice, and societal obstacles to accomplish their life-goals. From these early encounters, Karmyn crafted a talent for retelling human experiences from career milestones to celebratory events. She learned that for many of us, events in our nation's history are often intertwined with our own personal life-changing moments.

In response to the popularity of serialized storytelling, Karmyn has created "Holiday Wedding Challenge", "Inn-Tanglement" and "Master of Dreams" projects as limited series. Each episode displays her wick wit, side-splitting physical comedy, and poetic social commentary.
