Gabriel Brown, an actor from Durham, North Carolina made his screen debut on "Madam Secretary". Brown has acted in projects from the producers of shows such as "Succession", "Industry", "Watson", and "Vladimir". Brown was Series Regular on the Issa Rae executive produced ALLBLK Original series "Minimum Wage" and has appeared on "The Good Fight" opposite Emmy winner Andre Braugher.

Brown has starred in productions at nearly every major theater in New York and across the country including The Lincoln Center, The Roundabout Theater Company, The Signature Theatre, Playwrights Horizons, Yale Repertory Theatre, The Old Globe, and the famed Apollo Theater in Harlem. Brown has worked with a multitude of Tony Award winning Directors including Phylicia Rashad, Pam MacKinnon, Sam Gold, and Doug Hughes.

A graduate of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, Brown also studied with professors from The David Geffen School of Drama at Yale, The Juilliard School, and traveled abroad to study Shakespeare at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art; as well as a summer studying Chekov with The Moscow Art Theater. Brown has also studied sketch and improv at The Groundlings Theatre in LA.

In 2013 Brown won the Ovation Award for his performance in Joe Turner's Come and Gone Directed by Tony Award winner Phylicia Rashad at The Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles; starring alongside all-star cast members Emmy Award winner Glynn Turman, Tony Nominee Keith David, Tony Award winner Lillias White, and Tony Nominee John Douglas Thompson.

In 2014 Brown appeared in The City of Conversation directed by Tony Award winner Doug Hughes at The Lincoln Center Theater.

In 2015 Brown appeared with Academy Award Nominee Diane Lane and Emmy Award winner Tony Shaloub in the world premiere Lincoln Center Theater production of The Mystery of Love and Sex by Bathsheba Doran, Directed by Tony Award winner Sam Gold. Later that same year Brown starred Off-Broadway at The Signature Theatre Company in the world premiere of Love & Money by Pulitzer Prize Finalist A.R. Gurney, Directed by Tony Nominee Mark Lamos.

In 2017 Brown starred in the Issa Rae produced ALLBLK Original series Minimum Wage. Brown also appeared opposite "Stranger Things" star Brett Gelman in Tartuffe at The Huntington Theatre Company.

2020 saw Brown cast as the Lead opposite Emmy winners Leslie Uggams and Lynn Whitfield in Blue produced by John Legend and Mike Jackson's Get Lifted, directed by Phylicia Rashad.

In 2021 Brown starred in the North American Premiere of Walden by Amy Berryman which was a New York Times Critic's Pick.

In 2022 Brown appeared opposite Tony Award winner Francis Jue in the acclaimed production of Today is My Birthday at the renowned Yale Repertory Theater written by Emmy Award winning writer/producer of HBO's Succession Susan Soon He Stanton.

In 2023 Brown appeared in Industry and Watson producer Charly Evon Simpson's new work at South Coast Repertory.

In 2024 Brown starred opposite Emmy nominee and Tony Award winner BD Wong in the World Premiere play Big Data Directed by Tony Award winner Pam MacKinnon at the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco. Brown was nominated by the San Francisco Bay Area Critics Circle for his performance.

In the fall of 2024 Brown starred in A Woman Among Women written by creator/showrunner of the Netflix series Vladimir, Julia May Jonas which was a New York Times Critic's Pick and the inaugural production at The Bushwick Starr's new theater.

In 2025 Brown became the first African-American actor to play the lead role of Bertram at The Old Globe Theatre, in Shakespeare's All's Well That Ends Well.
