Eli Janney - Associate Music Director and Keyboards. He is a producer and engineer, as well as a member of the band Girls Against Boys. Seth Jabour - Guitar. He is also known for his work with the indie band Les Savy Fav. Syd Butler - Bass. He is also a member of Les Savy Fav and co-founder of Frenchkiss Records.

Previous members include: Marnie Stern - Guitar. She is a well-regarded solo artist and experimental guitarist. Kim Thompson - drums for the first season

Occasionally, when Fred Armisen is unavailable, the band features guest drummers. The band's presence and live performances add a dynamic energy to the late-night show, blending comedy with music.

The band's name, "8G," refers to the studio where Late Night with Seth Meyers is taped-Studio 8G at NBC's headquarters in the Comcast Building at 30 Rockefeller Plaza in New York City.
