Berkeley-based recording artist, film composer, and filmmaker Steven Emerson got his start with internationally renowned post-punk band True West before beginning a solo career in New York. Emerson's musical adventure includes recording four critically acclaimed solo albums, performing in 45 states and 12 countries, opening for REM, Nick Cave, The Violent Femmes, X and many others.

He is the owner of the award winning music house Ever Studio, composing for film, television, video games and commercials. His score for photographer Katy Grannan's documentary "The Nine" was included in Film Music Magazine's "Best Scores Of 2016" year-end list.
