Trained in acting and dance at North Minneapolis' renowned Capri Theater, Monchel landed her 1st major role as a child lead actor in Chuck Davis' Babu's Magic (1994), performed at the Walker Art Museum/Minneapolis Sculpture Garden of Minneapolis, MN. Monchel later expanded her talents behind the camera, directing and writing on film short Chased (2016), as well as dubbing her talents as PA, audience manager/floor director and assistant director on television and film projects, Sacramento Film Works (2016-2018) and film short Dr. Castillo (2017), with Northern California Filmmakers Coalition. Monchel has continued her acting chops in supportive roles for films: Authentic (2022), Authentic (2020), The Musician (2018), Choices (2017), and Collusion (2017).
