Nazli Eray was born on 28 June 1945 in Ankara. She studied at Istanbul Arnavutköy Girls' College. While studying at Istanbul University Faculty of Law and Faculty of Literature, Department of Philosophy, he left the school without graduating. He was a visiting professor at Lowa University in America in 1977 and taught creative literature for one semester.

He started writing with stories during his high school years. Nazli Eray's first story was published in the journal Monte Hristo Varlik. In 1975, the book Ah Mister Ah was published. The author's stories have been translated into French, English, German, Italian, Japanese, Hindi and Czech
