Joel Champ is an Australian based director, writer, cameraman, editor and VFX artist. Primarily dealing in independent productions and building towards high end feature films.

Born in Queensland, Joel grew up in the iconic Australian landscape in which he tries to transfer into his films. His work began with short films, music videos and promotional videos, then moving on to learn screenwriting techniques and visual effects in which he gained a Bachelor degree. With his first piece of funding he made the one hour long independent feature film Blacktop Stranger for ten thousand dollars. The film was filmed in outback QLD at Chinchilla and Dalby in order to capture the rugged Aussie look and isolation needed to tell the story.
