Philip Steiger is a filmmaker from Western Massachusetts, based in Los Angeles. A graduate of Syracuse University, Steiger's work blends social realism with dark humor, focusing on labor, identity, and the lives of people navigating America's edge economies.

He has directed a trilogy of 16mm short films centered on the gig economy in collaboration with cinematographer Ben Mullen, as well as a range of music videos. His short Trash Scab serves as the proof of concept for his debut feature film, Scrappers.

In addition to his directing career, Steiger is a member of IATSE Local 44, working as a Prop Master and Prop Assistant on major films and television series. His credits include features such as MaXXXine, Atropia, Lucky, Sacramento, and Swiped, as well as television projects like Nobody Wants This, I Love LA, and Dave. His extensive production background informs the grounded, tactile quality of his narrative work, and reinforces his commitment to collaborative, character-driven storytelling.
