Lydia

Damaris Cruz is an actress, a screen writer, a film maker and a producer. She has a Bachelors Degree in Liberal Arts from William Smith College in Geneva, New York. She is the youngest of four from a very traditional Puerto Rican family whose focus was academics. She studied nursing and obtained her license in 2003. She is very compassionate, and has a wonderful spirit which is recognized by everyone she meets. She is a hugger and will always ask may I give you a hug.

After moving to Florida, she met a friend who encouraged her to attend a local acting school, University Center for the Performing Arts in Davie, Florida. She was happy in her new creative playground. This led to a whole new world of possibilities and she was invited to work on her first film project. Her AHA moment was during her time filming with Ambassador Pictures as production assistant and soon after, production manager. This being her first time on set, she was green, but she had fire and passion.

During the process, she discovered her affinity for storytelling. Bitten by the acting bug, she further pursued her studies at The Burt Reynolds Institute of Film and Theater in Lake Park,Florida where she found her passion for improv. Her time studying in the arts and acting has inspired her to move forward using her creative and methodical spirit to build her production company.

In 2012 she took the plunge and founded Baby Calf Productions. She produced her first short film "The Ticket Box" which screened at the Action on Film, International Film Festival in Monrovia, California in 2015.
