Roman Shumunov is an award-winning Israeli film director, screenwriter, and editor, known for his exceptional work in TV and cinema projects across different genres.

In 2016, Shumunov gained recognition for his documentary "Babylon Dreamers," which opened the International Documentary Film Festival Docaviv and won first prize. He was also recognized as the most promising young director at the festival. In 2018, he directed the full-length social drama "Here and Now," which won the Ophir Award (Israeli Oscar) for Best Music, as well as Best Screenplay and Best Film awards.

Shumunov returned to documentaries in 2020 with "Back to Chernobyl," a highly acclaimed film that was successfully distributed to dozens of countries and festivals around the world.

In 2021, Shumunov released the epic and award-winning drama film "Berenshtein - the Last Partisan," which is based on the true story of Ukrainian Jewish partisan commander Leonid Berenshtein during WWII. The film has been dubbed into six languages and released in cinemas around the world, winning top prizes at various festivals.

Shumunov's latest works include the 4-episode series "Memory Forest" (2022), which was filmed in Poland and follows a group of teens on a trip to concentration camps to learn about the history of WWII. He also directed the 3-episode series "Generation 1.5" (2022), one of the most talked-about series of the year, and "Munich 72" (2022), a new series co-produced by German entertainment company Global Screen and Israeli broadcast Ch8 about the massacre at the 1972 Munich Olympic Games.
