Born in Apple Valley, CA, and raised in Southern California. Matthew didn't figure out what he wanted to be when he grew up until the age of 34. When the acting / film / T.V. / Improv / Writing button was activated through his involvement with a large annual haunted house production in Portland, OR. His first year there he took part in the writing, production, costuming, makeup, and acting in 3 1/2 hour shows that played before a nightly audience of up to 200 people for a 20 day straight run. These were themed sketch comedy shows.

Throughout the following years, Matthew explored various aspects of involvement in acting, and T.V. production. Drawing upon his photography background he took classes in studio and field camera work, final cut pro editing, lighting, sound, etc. Took some college acting classes, dabbled in stand up comedy at local open misc, and worked on his writing.

He got a position with a CPW a local wrestling company running second camera, for about a year, also helping with editing for the show. Produced a interview, profile, and helpful tip local access T.V. series entitled "Photo Exposure" in (2007), and helped produce a number of shorts, and advertisements.

He has appeared in a small number of commercials on local network affiliates and local channels in the Portland/Vancouver Metro market. As well as in a extra roll in an independent feature film from which the content was taken to create a short entitled "Run for your life". The short "Run for your life" (2008) won a contest and was nationally distributed as part of George Romero's Diary of the Dead DVD release. He took part in doing the zombie makeup for about 1/3 of the zombies in this short, and participated as a zombie actor as well.
