Born in Botswana, actress Stephanie Schildknecht started performing during her early school years. She is of Swazi and German descent, and holds a Diploma in Performance Art, a BA Degree in Acting from the Arts Educational School in London and a Business Degree in Marketing Management and Industrial Psychology.

After completing her degree in London, she went on to join a theatre company in Paris. She then moved to Cape Town, where she shot several local and international commercials and films including Death Race 2 alongside Golden Globe winner Ving Rhames. She also played The Bandit Queen in the BBC television series Leonardo.

She also spent some time in Los Angeles where she again shot with Ving Rhames as well as with television host Jimmy Kimmel.

Her career really took flight in Johannesburg where she is best known for her starring role as Janet in the Mzansi Magic drama series Rockville.

She previously had a recurring role as Lola, S'bu's love interest, in the eTV soap opera Rhythm City as well as several roles in other local movies and popular South African series Generations.

It was here that she shot her first lead in the feature film One Last Look, performing all her own stunts and proving her physical prowess as well as her merit as a lead actress.

She continues to live and work in South Africa and will soon be appearing on the big screen once again in Dan Tondowski's action thriller Accident.
