Piet Baumgartner is an experienced visual artist and director with a transdisciplinary approach to film, fine arts and theater. Piet started his career as a journalist before completing an MA in film directing at the Zurich University of the Arts, later going on to graduate from the Drehbuchwerkstatt Munich. After concluding his formative training under Andrej Wajda in Warsaw, he then worked as an assistant to Frank Castorf and Rene Pollesch at the Schauspielhaus Zurich. Piet works both independently and in collaboration with Rio Wolta, and has won numerous international awards. He is based in Zurich where he also teaches at the F+F School of Art and Design.
