Justin Patten was born in Tampa, Florida on May 9 1985. Growing up in Georgia, he showed great interest in story telling and entertaining. He graduated in 2003 and went to school at Asbury University, then transferred to Valdosta State University, ultimately graduating with a degree in Religion and Philosophy. He spent a few years doing humanitarian work in the Hudson-Dockett Housing project until 2011 when the urge to create and tell stories grew too strong.

After winning an online short film competition he moved out to Los Angeles to pursue a career in film. He worked on several indie productions until finally landing a job as a production assistant on the ABC Family show "Baby Daddy".

It was taking too long to learn the skills he wanted so after "Baby Daddy" wrapped he enrolled in the Los Angeles Film School, graduating in February 2014.

He wrote and directed the short film "Land of Smiles".
