Dan Pellar is a voice from the state of Michigan. Influenced heavily by hard working people, his writing is rooted in a very honest place. After graduating college, he moved to New York City, where he developed a style finding comedy in drama and drama in comedy. Satiric in nature, he was influenced by authors from the Midwest, like Twain, Vonnegut, and Bradbury.

His first screenplay, The Truckstop, won Best Screenplay in the Montclair Film Festival, and was a finalist in the London Independent Film Fest, New York GIAA Film Fest, Landlocked Film Fest, and The Movie Script Competition. His short story, Skywriter, was a finalist in the Moondance International Film Festival. Home School was written primarily in Astoria, Queens.

Today, he lives in Santa Monica, CA, with his fiance Laura. He can often be found on his balcony listening to The White Stripes, drinking a gin and tonic, and putzing around with his plants.
