Jeffrey L. Bewkes is a prominent American media executive who served as the Chairman and CEO of Time Warner Inc. from 2008 to 2018. During his decade-long leadership, he redefined the company’s strategic focus by divesting non-core assets like AOL, Time Inc., and Time Warner Cable to concentrate exclusively on premium content through HBO, Turner Broadcasting, and Warner Bros. His tenure culminated in the landmark $85 billion sale of the media conglomerate to AT&T in 2018.

Before ascending to the head of Time Warner, Bewkes spent over two decades at HBO, where he rose to Chairman and CEO in 1995. He is widely credited with transforming the network from a movie-repeater service into a powerhouse of original prestige television, greenlighting iconic series such as The Sopranos, Sex and the City, and The Wire.
