After being born and raised in a small Mid-West American town Sean Mullens graduated with honors from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. Soon after, he was writing and directing music videos and award winning commercials for clients that include Levi's, MTV, VW and many others. His commercial work has received accolades and awards including Cannes Lions, Clios and the first ever Emmy nomination for a commercial.

At the same time, Sean's directorial talent expanded into documentary film. His feature debut about a band of punk rock drag queens titled, "Filthy Gorgeous" garnered critical acclaim and festival awards from the London Film Festival and the San Francisco Film Festival. In addition he has received the best film / Grand Jury award from the Austin Film Festival for his short titled, "Birthright".
