Johnny Rutledge is a Dallas native and went to High school with Nora Jones (but didn't have the courage to ask her out.) He studied at the San Francisco Art Institute and finished his film education at the University of Texas at Arlington on a wave of film festival success. His films have been seen all over the world with hits such as From Democracy to Despotism, Separated by Light and Swimmer. He has worked on several documentaries for local and national PBS as well as film productions.

With his creative film team, Black Leader Films, Johnny is making a wave in American filmmaking that will have everyone turning heads toward Texas. Johnny spends his days spreading the doctrine of cinematic storytelling to middle school children, as he teaches them to edit. He spends his nights making plans and writing scripts.
