Rafael Paiva is a Brazilian-born, Los Angeles - based filmmaker, visual artist, and photographer whose work blends emotional storytelling with striking visual design. Before stepping into filmmaking, Rafael built a successful career as a commercial Photographer and senior Photo Retoucher, working with global brands such as Nike, Converse and Apple.

In 2025, he made his directorial debut with The Cage We Choose, a psychological short film exploring memory, trauma, and self-forgiveness. The film quickly gained attention on the festival circuit, earning multiple Awards and Selections across the United States and internationally.

Rafael's artistic vision is deeply rooted in his background as a painter and storyteller. His work often explores the hidden corners of the human mind, transformation, and the search for meaning. Across photography, painting, and film, he continues to build a body of work that bridges beauty, introspection, and emotional depth.
