Kamilah Bayete is an award-winning filmmaker from Philadelphia. Born into an artistic family, she began her formal training in creative writing, film and drama at the Philadelphia High School for Creative and Performing Arts. Bayete went on to earn an A.A. in Theatre, B.A. in Film Studies and M.A. in Sociology. Her production credits include Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Jesus' Son and The Sixth Sense. In addition to her work behind the camera, Bayete has appeared in numerous commercials, films and international stage productions and worked with notables such as Sofia Vergara, Charles Durning, Robert Loggia, Tony Todd, Irma P. Hall and Suzzanne Douglas. Bayete has served on the board for Philadelphia's Cinefest, and has been a special guest at the Chicago International Film Festival and Reel World Film Festival in Toronto.
