Tommy Hawkins

Michael J. Wray is a Canadian American actor whose work blends emotional honesty with natural charisma, grounded dramatic presence, and layered performances. He was born and raised in Toronto, Canada. He is the youngest of three children, growing up alongside his older sister, Olivia, and brother, Thomas, with a Canadian father and a Canadian American mother, and two beloved dogs, Piper and Maisy.

 A lifelong performer at heart, Michael spent his childhood immersed in sports and music playing piano and competing as an ice hockey goalie. In his freshman year at NYU Tisch School of the Arts, he proudly joined the university’s competitive ACHA hockey team while training in the Meisner technique at the New York University (NYU).

 His passion for acting started during the 2020 pandemic, when he discovered online acting classes and film theory exercises. That early curiosity led to an invitation to a showcase and representation with Canadian talent agent Jason Norris at YCAA. In 2024, he was accepted to NYU Tisch’s prestigious Drama program, signifying the start of his career path.

Michael made his screen debut as Victor in the supernatural coming of age short Dead Roommate (2026), set to hit the festival circuit in spring 2026. He also stars as Wilson in Hotspot (2026), a thesis film that premiered at the acclaimed Woodstock Film Festival. He is represented by Osbrink Talent Agency in the USA and continues to build a body of work across short form and festival bound projects.

 Outside of acting, Michael enjoys biking, working out, learning new songs on the piano, and spending time with family and friends. Whether on screen or off, he brings a thoughtful, joyous, and engaging energy that sets him apart.
