Oscar Flores is a queer Latino immigrant from Guadalajara Mexico who just graduated from the School of Theater, Film, and Television at UCLA in 2023. They studied theater at the University of Guadalajara before moving to the United States in 2015 with a single goal in mind: becoming a filmmaker.

Their biggest directorial influences are Fellini, Bergman, Angelopoulos, Tarkovsky, Kurosawa, Iñárritu, and Guillermo del Toro. Their style and previous works reflect subjects that Latino culture has inherently avoided speaking about, such as mental health. Their main goals are to create stories that embrace their roots and portray the broad spectrum of human feelings to give voice to underrepresented groups such as the Lgbtq+ community.

In 2023, they founded an independent production company, Flat Memory Media, along with two of their best friends. Since then, the company has worked with different independent artists to create music videos and diverse types of short films.
