Anne DeMelo is a director and writer working across film, theater, opera, and rock n' roll. She makes surreal, energetic, genre-melting stage and film work that embraces heightened emotional expression, employs live musical scoring and song as integral storytelling components, and revels in lush visual spectacle. Her plays and films vibrate around characters who, when pushed to the brink, are forced to grapple with their own buried impulses. She completed her MFA as a John Wells Directing Fellow at Carnegie Mellon University in May 2022.
