Lina Murari was the stage name of the Countess of Santa Fiora di Padua, who used her musical education to become a singer and actress after her separation of her husband left her in financial struggle. Her husband had taken full care of their three children, meaning that he was not required by law to pay her anything. Described as a beautiful woman, she featured on a few italian silent movies. Due to the short range of her voice and her lack of experience, she was often paid pretty poorly, and restricted to third-rate theaters. Lina Murari was "Hissed to Death", according to the newspapers of the era. Some men told her that if she continued to refuse their romantic advances, they would go to her theater to hiss and boo her everytime she started to act. These fits of anger forced the owner to the business to cancel the show and dismiss Murari. Lina Murari went to the small hotel room in where she resided and took a lethal dose of Veronal, being found dead the following day.
