Ivan Obad is a Croatian-Canadian actor based in Ontario, Canada. Known for his work in independent film and theatre, he has built a reputation in the Toronto-area acting community for his versatility and strong work ethic.

Obad often portrays intense, thoughtful young men navigating themes of identity, loyalty, and family. In This Is My Body (2026), he plays Benedict, a young man struggling to understand his sexuality within a hostile Catholic community.

Obad was raised in Oakville, Ontario and developed an early interest in performance and storytelling. He later attended the University of Guelph, where he studied theatre and performance, continuing to refine his craft through stage work, film projects, and independent productions.

Early in his career, Obad appeared in numerous short films and independent features while becoming active in the regional theatre scene, particularly in Guelph, Ontario. He has also appeared in musical theatre productions, including Into the Woods and Anastasia. His screen work includes several independent feature films as well as online content, including a leading role in a viral video produced by Dhar Mann Studios, which received millions of views online.

In addition to acting, Obad writes and develops creative projects and documents his artistic journey through his project "Make Art Happen," where he shares insights into the day-to-day life of a working actor.

He is an ACTRA apprentice and continues to work in film, television, and theatre.
