Raised in Toronto, Canada, the son of a Gemini Award winning Film Editor, Ronald A. Piggott, Andrew moved to the Los Angeles area and worked with the Scriptwriter's Network, starting out as a reader and quickly became the Chairman of their Producer's Outreach Program, which interfaced with production companies around Los Angeles as a vetting service for good quality scripts. The P.O.P. ran quarterly competitions to find the best scripts and then submitted them to a variety of associated production companies. He ran those competitions for several years. In his last year with the SWN he became Vice Chairman of the network (before they switched from chairmanships to president/vice-president as their leadership designators). He then joined the Big Bear Lake International Film Festival, working with Monica Skerbelis & Sandy Steers, becoming the Screenwriting Competition Coordinator for five years and ascending to Screenwriting Competition Director and Co-Executive Director of the festival in its final year, 2014. He resides in Florida where he works with Film Program students of Valencia College. He also obtained an Associate of Science degree in Film Production there. He continues to write feature and short subject material. He now produces, edits and occasionally directs these films.
