Born and raised in culturally-packed Mexico City, Laila found her passion for the arts at an early age. With a background in dance, she found theater, and shortly after, complemented her acting with writing. She then moved to New York City to pursue a BFA in Acting for Film at the New York Film Academy for which she graduated Summa Cum Laude. At college, she co-founded and served as president of The Pioneers Theater Club, a theater collaborative in which she produced and stage-managed several productions.

She has moved once more and is now an MFA Acting Candidate at Purdue University.
